Where is the wedding?

The ceremony will take place on September 23, at five in the evening, at the Box House Hotel (77 Box St, Brooklyn, NY 11222). The Box House is in the Greenpoint neighborhood of Brooklyn.

How do I get there?

Please see the travel tab for more information.

Is there a hotel block?

Yes! We’ve reserved rooms at preferred rates at two hotels (at the venue, and another very close by). Please see the travel tab for hotel options and information.

Will the wedding take place indoors or outdoors?

Both the ceremony and the reception will take place on an open-air rooftop, overlooking Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queens. Please dress accordingly.

Should it rain (now is when you knock on wood!) or be unseasonably cold or hot, we can close off the space completely and turn on central air or heat. But normally September in Brooklyn is beautiful, with high/low averages of 76 degrees/61 degrees.

Will the welcome party take place indoors or outdoors?

The space is both indoors and outdoors.

Where should I park?

On Saturday, there will be valet parking available outside of the Box House Hotel. Street parking is also available but limited, and there are lots nearby. However, we highly encourage you to cab or Uber in the city. For those checking/arriving to the hotel earlier, there is a lot very close to the Box House located at 1 Blue Slip, Brooklyn, NY 11222.

What is the dress code?

The Welcome Party: Casual cocktail attire. For men, a sports jacket is a very solid option. For women, dresses work.

The Wedding: The dress code is formal or black-tie optional. And because nobody (including us) really knows what that means, here’s an easy breakdown: For women, long dresses, gowns, pantsuits or short, dressier cocktail dresses are great options. Men, wear a tuxedo if you’d like, but a suit is also a smart choice. Everyone should feel like they can have fun and dress up, but at the end of the day, wear whatever makes you the most comfortable.

Is there anything you recommend I do in the area?

To Do: During the day, we suggest exploring Greenpoint on foot. There are tons of eclectic shops and street fairs. Play pinball at Sunshine Laundromat; catch a film at the Skyline Drive-In; or visit the Greenpoint Terminal Market. For views of Manhattan, head to WNYC Transmitter Park. (It’s right next to our Welcome Party location, so before joining us we suggest visiting Transmitter Park for a waterfront view of the sunset over the Manhattan skyline.)

To Eat: Really, we love to eat and drink our way through Greenpoint. For breakfast or coffee, try Peter Pan Donut & Pastry Sho; For the Record; Cafe Grumpy or Eleva Cafe. For dinner, we’d highly suggest making a reservation at any of the following restaurants: Wenwen (Taiwanese); Glasserie (Mediterranean); Le Fanfare (Italian); Esme (New American); Milk & Roses (Italian; cash only); and Paulie Gee’s Slice Shop (Pizza, of course!).

To Drink: Our favorite bars nearby include Achilles Heel, The Springs, Goldie’s, Torst, Threes Brewery and Capri Social Club. Greenpoint Beer & Ale Co. is steps away from The Box House and has a great rooftop worth checking out.

For friends and family staying at Hyatt Place Long Island City, we highly suggest heading across the street from your hotel to Tacombi for tacos. (They are our favorite!) For a drink after, head to The Beast Next Door or Dutch Kills.

We live about a 15 minute drive away from Greenpoint, in a neighborhood known as Prospect Heights. One of our favorite things to do is grab coffee (at Caffè De Martini) and a breakfast sandwich (at Olde Brooklyn Bagel Shoppe) and walk or ride a Citibike through Prospect Park. At the northern tip of the park is the Brooklyn Museum, which is worth a visit. If you like movies, visit the Nitehawk, a vintage movie theater that’s located west of the park. Vanderbilt Avenue is home to most of our local favorites, including the two spots mentioned above and others such as: White Tiger (Korean); King David’s Tacos (best breakfast tacos in the city); Chuko (ramen); and Faun (Italian).

If you’re feeling extra adventurous and are heading into Manhattan (it’s not far, we promise), take a stroll through Central Park, which is worthy of all the hype. While you’re uptown, visit the Met or the National History Museum, two of our favorite spots.

Will there be meal options for guests with dietary restrictions or allergies?

Yes, please indicate any restrictions or allergies on your RSVP card.

Can I bring my date/kid/dog?

Unfortunately space is very limited on the roof, and while we would love to celebrate with even more people, we don’t have the space. Send us an email at the above address for any pressing questions/concerns.
